Founded in 1896, the NSCDA-IA is dedicated to furthering an appreciation of our national heritage through historic preservation, patriotic service, and educational projects.

The NSCDA-IA works to inspire all people to understand and honor our origins as a nation. We understand that by promoting respect for the people, places and events that led to the formation of our country, we can inspire the patriotism of our fellow citizens and foster interest and understanding, not among the few, but for the many. 

In order to protect our freedom and ensure the perpetuity of our republic, we strive to make sure the stories of our origins not only endure, but also still have the power to inspire.
